Bhubaneswar, Aug. 13 -- BJD supremo and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik on Thursday criticised the Odisha government over the flood situation in Rourkela, alleging that the administration had failed to provide adequate assistance to people affected by water logging and urban flooding.

In a post on X, Patnaik said the flooding in several urban areas of Rourkela, a Smart City, following heavy rains was a matter of grave concern as it had disrupted the livelihood of residents.

He said people had been forced to live amid inundated streets and houses for days, while complaints were being raised that government assistance was not reaching those in need.
