Bhubaneswar, June 24 -- Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik has constituted a fact-finding committee to investigate the alleged farmer suicide reported from Odisha's Nuapada district.
The committee will be headed by the party's Deputy Leader in the Odisha Assembly, Prasanna Acharya. Other members include former minister and MLA Dibya Shankar Mishra, MLA Adhiraj Panigrahi, former minister Pushpendra Singhdeo, and BJD's Nuapada district president Avani Joshi.
According to party sources, the team will immediately visit the affected area, meet the family of the deceased farmer, and hold discussions with the district administration and farmer organisations to assess the circumstances surrounding the incident.
