New York, April 21 -- The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) said on Tuesday that it will remain a nuclear alliance while upholding its commitment to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

The statement said today's "deteriorating security environment poses challenges relevant to the NPT, as proliferation crises continue and escalate."NATO allies underline their strong commitment to the full implementation of the NPT.
