Hyderabad, Feb. 12 -- The nationwide general strike called to protest the anti-labour and anti-farmer policies of the Narendra Modi-led Central government continued peacefully across Telangana on Thursday, leading to disruptions in several services in parts of the state.
Normal functioning was affected in some government and private offices, as well as educational institutions. Transport services bore the brunt of the strike, with drivers stopping buses, cars and auto-rickshaws at various locations in support of the bandh.
Passengers were left stranded in several areas, forcing some to reach their destinations on foot. Drivers appealed to people from all sections of society to cooperate with the strike.
