Hyderabad, May 20 -- A nationwide strike by medical shops continued on Wednesday following a call given by the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) protesting against online pharmacy sales and other issues affecting retail drug traders.
Medical shops in several parts of the Telangana remained closed in response to the bandh call, though some outlets continued operations in select regions.
Representatives of the Telangana Chamber of Chemists and Druggists said the protest was aimed at demanding a ban on online sale of medicines, regulation of excessive discounts offered by corporate entities, and prevention of counterfeit drug sales.
