Ahmedabad, June 24 -- A record-breaking wave swept through the 79th Senior National Aquatic Championships in Ahmedabad, with swimmers rewriting national marks across events and strengthening India's prospects ahead of the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.
Several long-standing records fell during the six-day meet at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, highlighting the rapid rise of Indian swimming standards. Olympian Srihari Nataraj and distance specialist Aryan Nehra were among the standout performers, securing qualification for major international events with record-setting swims.
