Kozhikode, Aug. 15 -- A controversy has erupted at the Kozhikode Corporation over an incident in which the National Anthem 'Jana Gana Mana' and the National Song 'Vande Mataram' were sung simultaneously during the Independence Day celebrations.
Mahatma Gandhi National Foundation Chairman A.B. J. Jose has lodged a complaint with the State Police Chief seeking action in connection with the incident, alleging that the simultaneous singing had undermined the dignity of the Independence Day celebrations.
