Bengaluru, April 14 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has removed senior Congress MLC Naseer Ahmed from the post of his political secretary with immediate effect amid allegations of anti-party activity during the Davangere South Assembly bypoll.
According to official notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR), Ahmed has been relieved with immediate effect and his earlier appointment order has been withdrawn.
Party sources said the action followed allegations that Ahmed worked against the Congress candidate Samarth Shamanur, the grandson of veteran MLA Shamanur Shivashankarappa and son of Minister SS Mallikarjun, during the April 9 by-election.
