Hyderabad, Sept. 7 -- In a landmark initiative under the Telangana government's Indira Mahila Shakti Policy, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy inaugurated the country's first petrol bunk run entirely by a women's federation at Singaram X Roads, Narayanpet, on February 21, 2025.

The venture, managed by the Narayanpet District Mahila Samakhya, comprising 8,196 self-help groups with 91,369 members, has turned profitable within just six months, earning Rs 13.82 lakh. The petrol bunk operates on a 20-year lease with BPCL and sells about 4,000 litres of petrol and 6,000 litres of diesel every day.
