Nagpur, April 6 -- In a major boost to eco-friendly public transport, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will induct 75 new electric buses into its fleet on April 8, officials said.
Out of the total, 25 buses will be deployed at the Khapri depot, while 50 will operate from the Wathoda depot. With this addition, the city's bus fleet will grow to 628 vehicles covering 110 routes.
The induction is part of a larger procurement plan of 250 electric buses aimed at modernising Nagpur's public transport network.
So far, 175 buses have been delivered or deployed, while the remaining 75 are yet to arrive.
