Nagpur, Nov. 7 -- A 52-year-old teacher from Nagpur died after falling nearly 150 feet into a gorge at Sunrise View Point in Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh, while attempting to retrieve a bag snatched by a monkey during a school excursion.
The deceased was identified as Vijay Nayak, a NCC teacher from Somalwar school , Ramdaspeth, who had visited the hill station with a group of 20 schoolchildren, fellow teachers and his father.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 6.45 am on Friday when a monkey snatched a bag while the group was at the viewpoint.
Nayak reportedly crossed the safety railing to retrieve it, lost his balance and plunged into the gorge while chasing the monkey that had snatched bag belonging to a schoolgirl.
