Nagpur, June 1 -- In a major anti-narcotics operation, Nagpur police seized 7.5 kg of mephedrone (MD) valued at approximately Rs 2.25 crore from a rented apartment in the city and arrested a suspected operative linked to an interstate drug syndicate, officials said on Monday.

The seizure was made during a coordinated raid conducted on Sunday by teams from Jaripatka and Kapil Nagar police stations at a flat located in the Uppalwadi locality.

The accused, identified as Majhar Ali Akbar Ali (35), was taken into custody in connection with the case.

Police said the narcotic substance was found packed in 14 separate parcels and had allegedly been stocked in the apartment for onward supply.
