Nagpur, July 1 -- : Nagpur is planning to set up Central India's first and the country's second Textile Recovery Facility (TRF) to recycle discarded clothing and reduce textile waste reaching the Bhandewadi dumping yard, marking a significant step towards sustainable urban waste management.

The proposed facility, an initiative of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), will scientifically collect, sort and process used textiles, enabling old garments to be reused, upcycled or recycled instead of being sent to landfills.

The project aims to promote a circular economy by recovering value from textile waste while reducing the environmental impact of discarded clothing.
