Nagpur, June 23 -- A madrasa teacher's friend in Nagpur's Tajbagh area has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a minor boy, police said on Tuesday, adding that 10 children have been rescued from the facility.
The accused, identified as Atay Rasul alias Talif (26), is absconding and police have launched a search to trace him.
The case came to light after a 16-year-old student from Madhya Pradesh allegedly informed the madrasa management about the abuse.
Based on the complaint, Sakkardara Police registered an FIR against the accused under relevant sections of the POCSO Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
