Nagpur, May 15 -- The Nagpur Sessions Court on Friday convicted gangster Jayesh Pujari and sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment of up to five years for allegedly demanding Rs 100 crore through threatening phone calls made to the office of union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

The court also convicted gangster Pujari's associate Afsar Pasha alias Bashiruddin alias Khushiruddin Mohammad in the high-profile extortion and threat case.

Another accused, Mohammad Shakir, is absconding and a chargesheet against him has been filed under Section 299 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
