Dimapur, Oct. 16 -- The state crime police station (SCPS), Nagaland, has registered an FIR after a written complaint alleged that a forest official from the wildlife division in Dimapur and others demanded Rs 1 lakh from Vezhoto Hesuh to secure his release from detention.
The wildlife crime control unit, wildlife division, Dimapur, detained Hesuh in September over photographs and videos of animals uploaded on his Facebook page.
PRO, PHQ, Nagaland, in a release, on Friday said following a written complaint alleging that no written notice, receipt, challan or other lawful document was provided to justify the demand, a preliminary enquiry was first conducted by Dimapur police.
