Dimapur, April 30 -- The Dimapur Municipal Council employees have declared an indefinite 'no pay, no work' protest from May 5, citing their long-overdue salaries and pending dues.

The decision was taken at the executive meeting of the Dimapur Municipal Council Employees' Welfare union after the authorities failed to address their long-pending demands despite repeated representations.

The union said the employees will cease all sanitation and public services under the council from May 5.
