New Delhi, Jan. 13 -- The central Health Ministry on Tuesday assured the West Bengal government of comprehensive support after two suspected cases of Nipah virus infection were detected in Kolkata.

Two health workers are suspected of contracting the infection and are reportedly in a "critical condition."Union Health Minister JP Nadda said the Centre is extending full technical, logistical, and operational support to the state.

Immediate coordinated measures have been initiated, including laboratory support, enhanced surveillance, case management, IPC measures, and expert guidance.
