Bengaluru, July 24 -- In a development that could put the DK Shivakumar-led Karnataka government under pressure from a section of its traditional support base, the Karnataka State Muslim Federation has launched a statewide 'Bharavase Eederisi' (Fulfil Your Promise) campaign, alleging that several assurances made to the Muslim community in the Congress' 2023 Assembly election manifesto remain unfulfilled.
The Federation said the campaign, which began on July 20 and will continue till August 5, is aimed at mobilising public opinion and pressing the government to honour the commitments it had made to minorities before coming to power.
