Aizawl, Sept. 3 -- Denghmingthanga, the 20-year-old murder accused who escaped from Lunglei Police Station around 1:00 am on Tuesday, was arrested by police and Village Defence Party (VDP) volunteers at Vanhne in Lunglei district on Thursday evening.
Sources said Denghmingthanga was found sleeping in a jhum hut in Vanhne jhum fields and was apprehended at around 6.30 pm.
Denghmingthanga, a resident of Mualthuam North, is accused of murdering 15-year-old H. Lalramdinpuii. He escaped from Lunglei Police Station around midnight on Monday while in police custody, prompting an immediate search operation.
