Mumbai, July 23 -- Continuous monsoon rainfall over the past 24 hours has significantly improved Mumbai's drinking water reserves, with the combined storage in the seven reservoirs supplying water to the city rising to 69.74% of their total live storage capacity, according to the latest data released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Hydraulic Engineer's Department.
The city's reservoir levels recorded a sharp increase of 7.84 percentage points between 6 am on Wednesday, July 22, and 6 am on Thursday, July 23, following sustained rainfall across the catchment areas.
