Mumbai, Oct. 29 -- The Mumbai police rescued six Thai women from an alleged prostitution racket operating under the guise of a spa in the Chembur area of the city's suburbs.
An offence has been registered against the spa's owner and manager, officials said today.
Acting on a tip-off about illegal activities, a team from the Chembur police station conducted a raid at the spa, located inside a residential tower.
During the operation, police rescued six women from the premises and later sent them to a rescue home for rehabilitation.
