Mumbai, July 15 -- Mumbai Police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against a 22-year-old youth from Kolkata, who is the son of a former Trinamool Congress (TMC) corporator from Metiabruz, officials said here on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Farmaan Rahmat Ansari, is a resident of Metiabruz. He has been booked by Oshiwara Police Station in the western suburbs following allegations that he repeatedly indulged in indecently touching a minor girl in Mumbai and Kolkata.
Police have registered the case under Section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, along with Sections 8, 10 and 12 of the POCSO Act.
