Mumbai, Aug. 8 -- Mumbai Police detained National Students' union of India (NSUI) Mumbai President Pradyumn Yadav from his residence, hours before union Home Minister Amit Shah was scheduled to arrive in the city, officials said here on Sarturday .
According to NSUI Mumbai, Yadav and other party workers were planning to meet Shah and question him over the alleged use of force against students during recent protests, including incidents involving lathi charges and pellet guns.
"NSUI Mumbai workers were going to ask Amit Shah ji why lathis and pellet guns were used against students," the student body said in a statement, alleging that Yadav was detained from his home earlier in the morning.
