Mumbai, May 20 -- BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide on Wednesday ramped up pre-monsoon preparedness with a series of surprise inspections across South Mumbai and other key areas, while setting a May 31 deadline for completion of desilting works.
Bhide assured that Mumbai will not face waterlogging this monsoon, stating that pre-monsoon preparedness, especially desilting of drains, will be closely monitored.
Bhide, accompanied by civic officials visited Mumbai's nearly 100-year-old pesticide control station located on Mint Road, besides the A-2 road repair and storage station and a sewage disposal station.
