Mumbai, Sept. 2 -- The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), which carried out the cleaning and sanitation work at Azad Maidan and its adjoining areas during Maratha leader Manoj Jarange Patil's protests, removed 101 Metric Tones of waste items, an official said here today.
The local body, which used to carry out the night-time road cleaning and sanitation work, had engaged over 400 workers during the night shift from 10 pm to 6 am. Overall, there are 1,000 sanitation workers deployed in three shifts, the official said.
