Mumbai, Jan. 25 -- In a major crackdown on the illegal trade of electronic cigarettes, the Mumbai Crime Branch has seized a large consignment of banned JUUL e-cigarettes and pods worth 42.04 lakh from the Chirabazar area of South Mumbai, leading to the arrest of one person, an official said on Sunday.
The operation was carried out late night near the Chirabazar bus stop on JSS Road, following specific instructions from senior officers to intensify action against the sale and transportation of prohibited e-cigarette products. A team from the Property Cell of the Crime Branch intercepted a suspicious individual riding an electric bike during routine patrolling in the area.
