Mumbai, Nov. 6 -- A local court today remanded city based builder and his assistant into police custody till November 9 for allegedly cheating a contractor of Rs 9.57 crore and threatening him with physical violence.
The arrested accused identified as builder Neeraj Kakad and his associate Vikas Kadam, were produced before a court in suburban Bandra. While moving the remand application the Prosecution submitted that the accused developer is a habitual offender and police needs his custody for detailed investigation.
While oppossing the plea defence, advocate Ashok Sarogi said that the offence was of a civil nature and the developer was wrongly booked in the criminal case.
