Mumbai , June 20 -- The Mumbai BEST bus strike has entered its second day on Saturday, leaving commuters stranded on the roads and forcing them to walk long distances to reach railway stations, metro stations, and their workplaces. Workers are pressing long-pending demands related to wages, pensions, and fleet expansion.

The strike has disrupted Mumbai's daily life, with office-goers, students, senior citizens, and patients facing difficulties due to the near-total suspension of bus operations.

Despite government intervention and the invocation of the Essential Services Maintenance Act (MESMA), BEST workers have continued their strike, stating that in the absence of any concrete decision, they have decided to continue the agitation.
