Mumbai, July 15 -- An inebriated man allegedly murdered his wife with a stone just 100 metres from Oshiwara Police Station in Andheri West area, officials said on Wednesday.
According to police, the incident occurred on July 14 around 6:30 PM near a traffic signal in Oshiwara. The victim and the accused were married and earned their living by begging at the signal.
Police said both were under the influence of alcohol when an argument broke out between them.
In a fit of rage, the husband allegedly picked up a large stone lying by the roadside and hit his wife repeatedly on her neck and head.
The woman collapsed on the spot, bleeding profusely.
