Mumbai, Aug. 31 -- The ongoing Maratha reservation protest at the Azad Maidan has caused heavy financial losses to the South Mumbai traders, prompting a business body today to seek the intervention of the Maharashtra government and the Bombay High Court.
The Federation of Retail Traders Welfare Association (FRTWA) urged the state government and the Bombay HC to step in, citing severe disruption of commercial activity due to traffic congestion and restricted movement in the area.
Federation president Viren Shah said the agitation, coinciding with the weekend, had worsened the situation for shopkeepers and professionals.
