Dubai, Aug. 5 -- Multiple explosions followed by a major fire were reported early Wednesday in Dubai's Jebel Ali industrial zone and port area, with thick smoke seen rising from the site.
According to reports, at least seven blasts were heard over a period of around 20 minutes in the Jebel Ali area. Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the incident, and no group has claimed responsibility.
Videos circulating on social media showed large columns of smoke emerging from the vicinity of Jebel Ali Port. NASA thermal imagery reportedly indicated a fire near a warehouse adjacent to the port, an area used for fuel storage and transfer.
