Srinagar, Aug. 11 -- Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations on August 15, multi-layered security arrangements have been put in place across Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir Valley.
In Srinagar, where Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is scheduled to unfurl the national flag at Bakshi Stadium, security forces have significantly strengthened the security grid around the venue and its adjoining areas.
Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, V K Birdi said on Tuesday said elaborate security arrangements were being made not only at the main venue but also across the city and in various districts of the Valley to ensure smooth conduct of the Independence Day functions.
