Kakinada, Aug. 5 -- The Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) on Wednesday accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of failing to honour his pre-election promise of nominating a Madiga leader to the Legislative Council and warned of political repercussions in the forthcoming local body elections.

Addressing a press conference after a meeting of Madiga community leaders at Kacheripeta in Kakinada, MRPS former Polit Bureau member Mummidivarapu China Subbarao said that the Chief Minister had assured the community ahead of the 2024 Assembly elections that an MLC post would be given to a Madiga leader to strengthen the community's political representation.
