Mangaluru, Sept. 30 -- The absence of immediate clarity over the source of a blast at the Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) premises near Jokatte left residents on alert on Wednesday, even as Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker UT Khader said the situation had been brought under control and called for a clear report to establish the cause.
Khader said preliminary information indicated that the blast had occurred in a unit involving a boiler or pressure system, but the exact point and cause of the explosion had not yet been established.
"The situation is under control and there is no report of any loss of life so far. A clear report on what happened and why it happened is necessary before drawing any conclusion," he said....
