Mumbai, Sept. 2 -- Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Chairman Vivek Bhimanwar has issued a clarification regarding allegations against him in connection with the alleged leak of the "Drug Inspector" examination question paper, amid demands for his resignation.
Bhimanwar said the incident took place in January 2026, whereas he was sworn in as MPSC chairman on February 18, and formally assumed charge on March 3. He therefore pointed out that the alleged paper leak had occurred before he took charge of the Commission.
He, however, stressed that the MPSC has taken the matter seriously. A complaint has been filed in connection with the incident, following which the police have initiated an investigation.
