Pune, June 10 -- Senior Congress leader and Maharashtra Congress spokesperson Gopaldada Tiwari on Wednesday joined the Opposition protest over the Election Commission's rationale for rejecting the nomination papers of Meenakshi Natarajan for the Rajya Sabha polls.
Reports indicate that the decision was apparently taken because details regarding a summons issued by a court in Telangana were not disclosed in the nomination papers, he said while pointing out that the summons in question was unrelated to any criminal case. There is no mandatory requirement to disclose such summons or notices in the election affidavit, he said questioning the decision of the scrutiny official in Bhopal.
