Bhopal, Dec. 29 -- : The Madhya Pradesh has decided to set up a apex board - State Androgynous Welfare Board - for the welfare of the transgender community. Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha said at a press conference on Monday that full preparations have been made for the Board's formation and formalities shall be completed within a week.
Although the state had passed Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 and Rules 2020, a dedicated Board was missing so far.
