Bhopal, March 14 -- Accusing the Congress of falsely trying to discredit Madhya Pradesh's BJP government, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Friday asserted that the state government has paid Rs 52000 crore to over 1.25 crore women under the Laadli Behna Yojana in the past three years.
The CM transferred Rs 1836 crore to beneficiaries as the scheme's payment for this month, at an event organised at the Ghatigaon area of Gwalior district today.
Countering the Congress' claim that the scheme was merely an election gimmick, Dr Yadav emphasised that the success of the Laadli Behna Yojana is the answer to the Congress.
