Bhopal, March 29 -- Three members of a family, including a kid, were burnt alive and two others sustained critical burn wounds, as their car lost control and caught fire after falling into a roadside pit in the Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh around midnight on Saturday.

According to the police, the incident occurred near the Kelwari square on the Baihar-Malajkhand road at around 11.50 pm.

Police said that Seetam Kelkar (30) is a resident of Paraswada, and owns a welding shop at Pauni in Malajkhand. He had come to his village two days ago with his wife and son.
