Betul (MP), Nov. 7 -- Villagers are living in a state of trepidation even many hours after a loud explosion on a farm in Kuppa village about 15 km from the Taku-Itarsi Proof Range in this district.

In the words of peasant Arjun Kajle, he was working at his farm yesterday afternoon when there was a severe blast and a long missile-like object landed. The object went approximately ten feet into the ground and cannot be seen from above.

The explosion was so loud that people working in adjoining farms fled. Two more blasts were heard roughly 10-15 minutes after the first one possibly from the direction of the nearby forest. Kajle alerted the Forest Department. Deputy Ranger Rajkumar Arya and Beat Guard Nawal Singh Gurjar reached the spot.
