Betul (MP), Feb. 19 -- A class XII topper has allegedly murdered his parents and brother at Sawanga village in this district's Kotwali Police Station limits, police said.
The accused's five-year-old nephew Prashant Parte is battling for life in hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Hansu Dhurve alias Raju (55), his spouse Kamalti (50) and their son Dileep (30).
As the door to their dwelling did not open until Thursday afternoon, neighbours became apprehensive. The door was broken open and three corpses were found. The accused Deepak, sitting quietly near them, has been taken into custody. A cat's carcass was also seen. An iron rod and stick were found at the scene of the crime.
