Betul (MP), Jan. 6 -- A young woman attempted suicide by jumping off the Tawa Bridge in Ranipur Police Station limits after three men allegedly raped her in this district.
The victim sustained severe injuries to the head and waist and is undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
Police said that for the past two months the woman was in contact with one Shambhu Navde. Late Saturday, he took the woman from her place on the pretext of an outing. Navde was dropped at the woman's place by Rawat Singh Uikey. Navde raped the victim in Ratamati area. Later, he called Pankaj Uikey to the scene of crime and Pankaj also sexually assaulted the woman. The duo then absconded.
