Bhopal, April 10 -- A two-and-a-half-year-old boy fell into a 70-feet deep open borewell located in an agricultural field in the Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh tonight.

According to the police, the incident occurred at Jhalaria village in the district's Badnagar tehsil.

Badnagar police station house officer Ashok Patidar rushed to the spot along with a team of cops and rescuers on getting information about the incident.

He said the child has been identified as Bhagirath. His parents are shepherds from Pali district in Rajasthan and had arrived in the area with a group of shepherds a couple of days ago.
