Moradabad (UP), March 10 -- A mother risked her life to rescue her three-year-old son from the jaws of a leopard in Moradabad, police said.

The incident took place around 8 pm on Tuesday in Taraf Dalpat village under the Thakurdwara police station area. Ravi Kumar's house is located close to forests and sugarcane fields. His three-year-old son Moksh Kumar, also known as Titu, was playing outside with his mother Pinki and his elder brother.

Unnoticed by the family, a leopard was hiding in a nearby sugarcane field. As the child moved slightly ahead, the animal suddenly attacked and clamped its jaws around the boy's neck, dragging him toward the dark fields.
