Lucknow, Oct. 27 -- Tension erupted at a private hospital in Lucknow's Bijnor area after a woman and her newborn died during delivery.
The incident took place at Seema Hospital in Balwant Kheda, where family members staged a protest for nearly three hours, placing the bodies outside the hospital and accusing the management of negligence, police said today.
According to reports, the hospital staff locked the premises and fled after the woman's death.
Police and local authorities reached the spot. ACP Krishna Nagar Rajnish Verma assured the family of a fair investigation, after which the protest was called off. The bodies were later sent for post-mortem.
