Sitapur, March 30 -- Authorities in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday morning demolished a mosque that had been constructed approximately 12 years ago. The action was carried out following an eviction order issued by the tehsildar court.

The incident took place in the Laharpur Kotwali area, along the Joshi Tal Chungi main road. The structure, identified as the Syed Hazrat Umar Farooq Mosque, was located adjacent to a road leading to a Community Health Centre in the village Nayagaon Behati.

According to official records, the mosque stood on land registered as Gata number 247, covering an area of 0.2430 hectares.
