Kolkata, May 28 -- More than 300 identity documents, including voter cards, Aadhar and ration cards, were recovered from an almirah kept inside a local Trinamool Congress (TMC) party office in Tangra off EM Bypass on Thursday.
The area where the documents were found inside the TMC party office falls under ward number 57 of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. The councilor of this ward is TMC's Jiban Kumar Saha.
Several residents of the area on Thursday claimed that they had no clue that the identity documents were stashed inside the almirah.
"We had no idea that the documents were kept inside the almirah of the TMC party office," a resident said.
