Chennai, June 16 -- Amid a mass exodus of former Ministers, EX-MPs and MLAs deserting the party over successive poll losses, the Opposition AIADMK, which finished a distant third in the recent elections, suffered further and a major setback on Tuesday with party stalwart and former Health Minister Dr C Vijayabaskar quitting as Legislator, reportedly due to differences with the party leadership.

Elected from Viralimalai constituency in Pudukottai district of Tamil Nadu for a fourth consecutive term, Vijayabaskar met Assembly Speaker J.C.D.Prabhakar at his chamber in the State Secretariat and handed over his resignation letter this afternoon.
