Pune, Sept. 20 -- The southwest monsoon has begun its retreat, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) announcing that withdrawal has commenced from parts of west Rajasthan.
At the same time, a low-pressure area has developed over the Bay of Bengal and is likely to intensify over the next few days, potentially bringing another spell of rain to several parts of Maharashtra and other regions.
According to the IMD forecast, rainfall is likely in several parts of Maharashtra between September 25 and 28. Vidarbha and Marathwada are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places, while other parts of the state may also experience renewed showers.
